Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.

DESCRIPTION:

As an Autocad Technician at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

• Review and interpret project construction drawings and specifications.

• Follow drawing standards required for a project.

• Produce drawings and details in a timely manner that is of quality.

• Meet, coordinate and collaborate with project engineers and other trades to develop a working shop drawing for approvals and site-use.

• Monitor and update project changes due to RFIs (request for information) and reflect the changes in the contract drawings for as-built preparation.

• Maintain record drawings, red line drawings and as-builts for projects.

• Always treat each work assignment with full confidentiality within the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

• Knowledge of heavy civil construction projects w strong emphasis on equipment and plant layouts a plus.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is required. Proficiency in Navisworks, Civil 3D, Revit, or Inventor is desirable.

• Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office

• Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills, including conceptual and analytical skills

• Has a methodical approach to work practices with strong emphasis on quality

• Must be organized with effective time management per drawing and details.

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Good oral, written and active listening communication skills with the ability to interact with the entire project team is required.

• Must have the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

• Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work full-time, which may include extended hours, as needed.

***Expected salary range for this position is $75,000 – $95,000 depending upon experience***
