Senior PLC Engineer
Implement & improve PLC design through program upgrades from org standard config to optimized & Sophisticate & refined versions. Adapt syst character to suit new & prog challenges present for underground mech excavation tech. integrate custom PLC solution in auto- mation & data collection req to enhance heavy civil engineering project work cycle & eco. Manage spec underground conditions for safe & effective mining practice in HMI (Human / Machines Interface) dev. Responsible for routine maintenance, repair & calibration of electric / electronic computer, sensors, CPUs, INPUT / OUTPUT modules analog & dig, sensors & actuators part of robotic and telemetry equip syst install on board of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). Responsible for generating requests for tools, equipment, spare parts& materials. Lead troubleshooting & repair electrical, controls & comm on complex underground mining machine : PLCs, HMIs, VFDs & industrial networks. Support field electricians on site in troubleshoot mech, pneumatic & hydraulic systems & components to return mining equip to product [AS1]
Required :
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Robotics Engineering or closely related engineering field req. Six years of relevant engi- neering exp in : o PLC controls implemen- tation, troubleshoot & repair spec for underground mech excavation equipment; & o Computer model exp, & Med & Low Voltage power distribution designs. o Of those six yrs, five yrs must involve TBM operation & maintenance, including TBM Control sys design, troubleshoot, & repairing
Proficiency in AC / DC drive sys design & app for TBM operation.
Read & interpret tech manuals, electrical sche- matics, PLC prog, fluid diagrams & schematics & construction drawings.
Domestic / internal travel req, to various unanticipated sites for an estimate 2 weeks / month to train employees about troubleshooting & repair electrical sys including PLC prog relate to mechanical machine, interpret & appl of machine data.
