Job Title: Shop Helper
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Company Overview
Frontier Railroad Services, LLC is a railroad construction company based in New Stanton, PA performing new construction and rehabilitation for customers in the Eastern United States.
Functions
Inventory Management:
· Receive and unload incoming deliveries of materials and supplies
· Check delivery packing lists against purchase orders for accuracy
· Stock shelves and organize inventory in designated areas
· Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking stock levels of equipment parts, consumables and materials
· Advise when stock levels reach the designated re-order points to ensure inventory is maintained
Shop Maintenance and Cleaning:
· Sweep, mop, and clean shop areas to maintain a safe and organized environment
· Keeps material yard tidy and organized
· Dispose of waste materials from shop and yard in appropriate dumpsters
· Assist with basic shop maintenance tasks as needed- weed spraying, weed wacking, grading the stone areas around shop, changing light bulbs
· Perform pressure washing on equipment, trucks, and jobsites
Vehicle Management:
· Assists with tracking company vehicle usage, updates GPS database for assigned drivers
· Assists with service interval monitoring of company vehicles trailers and heavy trucks
· Moves cars, pickup trucks, trailers and large CDL trucks between company shop, dealerships and repair facilities
· Assists in setting up tire service for company vehicles as necessary
Equipment Management:
· Assist with tracking company owned and leased equipment, update GPS database for equipment locations and crew assignments
· Assist with maintaining the equipment database for inspections, preventive maintenance, work orders and parts ordering
· Create and follow up on mobilization requisitions for company equipment and heavy vehicles
· Assist project engineers with ordering rental equipment, dumpsters, portapots and connex boxes for projects.
Project Support:
· Pull/ assemble orders of consumables and equipment parts for shipment from shop by ground shipment, LTL or employee pickup
· Pull/ assemble project materials for pickup or LTL shipment from yard
· Deliver emergency parts/ materials/ supplies if necessary to jobsites throughout the Eastern United States
· Quickly answer calls, emails and text messages from operations personnel and ensure they get what they need in a timely fashion
· Assist field mechanics and shop manager with repairs to equipment and vehicles as necessary
Other Duties:
· Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
· Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Shop Supervisor
· Participate in all training as required by the Shop Supervisor
· Perform other tasks assigned by the Shop Supervisor

· Valid Driver’s License, CDL preferred. Company may consider helping the right candidate obtain their CDL.
· Ability to operate pickup trucks, trailers, heavy trucks, forklifts and skid steers.
Required Experience
· Experience with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, hydraulic, diesel, mechanical and electrical systems preferred, but not required.
This position requires the incumbent to be available for work from 7 AM to 5 PM, M-F. There will also be times where responsiveness during non-traditional work hours including nights and weekends is required. Some overnight and out of town travel may be required when traveling to job sites. The ability to work in all weather conditions- rain, sleet, snow, heat is required. This job requires the incumbent to be able to lift 75 lbs regularly and stand for 70% of the workday.
