Frontier STEM High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our supportive educational team. In this role, you'll provide essential classroom support to students with special needs, collaborating closely with teachers and staff to ensure students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Starting Hourly Rate: $20.02 (commensurate with experience and education).
Qualifications
- Completion of at least 60 credits of college coursework or an associate's degree
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with special needs in meeting academic, social, and emotional goals within the classroom environment.
- Deliver one-on-one or small-group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans.
- Observe and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, achievements, and behaviors.
- Communicate effectively with parents and educational team members about student progress, challenges, and needs.
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
