Driver Guide

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver Guide to join our team. As a driver, the ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of passengers. Additionally as a guide, the ideal candidate is expected to have excellent communication and public speaking skills for providing relevant commentary to guests on guided Alaska tours. This role requires a commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. This is a full time seasonal position for the 2025 summer season of May through September offering a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class C passenger vehicles, generally 15 passenger tour vans.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers & equipment.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition and report any mechanical issues.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and other required documentation.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while providing exceptional service to passengers or clients.
• Provide tour specific commentary showcasing the scenery, history, culture, and wildlife relevant to the sightseeing area.
• Manage tour manifests, communicating with guests about their tour, and coordinating pickups and drop-offs.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
• Experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and documentation effectively.
• Proficiency with mobile based apps for hours tracking, tour & manifest management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week
