Human Resources Generalist (On-Site)

We are looking to add a Human Resources Generalist to our growing Grand Prairie, Texas headquarters. This is an on-site position (NO REMOTE).
This role will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing initiatives around communication, recruiting and compliance. This is a highly visible position where a successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a decisive role in the future success and growth of the organization. This is a roll-up-your sleeves role in which the selected candidate will be an active participant in the day-to-day duties mentioned below.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily management of HR activities, primarily managing the administration of company programs, policies, and procedures
- Manage the staffing process, including recruitment, applicant screening, interviewing – scheduling, participation and directing the recruiting and hiring process, and partnering with managers in all hiring activities
- Manage and administer all pre-employment processes and paperwork, including MVRs, drug screening, license verification, and reference checks
- Manage and maintain all HR related documents and records, including Company handbook and related policies, making needed recommendations when necessary
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, licenses, and certifications
- Administers various employee benefits programs including group medical/vision, dental, life and supplemental insurances. Serve as the point-of-contact for benefits open enrollment and benefits related questions
- Maintain and manage all HR audit requests, including EEO and DOL processes
- Administer company response to unemployment claims by managing document flow and agency requests
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A track record of success working in and influencing a fast‐paced entrepreneurial organization
- Experience in an industrial environment, medium sized business setting
- Strengths in talent acquisition/development, ability to set the strategy, as well as the ability to recruit directly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a major plus
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years related human resources generalist experience
- Background directing benefits administration, unemployment claims, and other Generalist specific duties required
- Previous experience in a highway/roads/construction environment a major plus
