Controller Role :
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing accrual accounting, job costing, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for both small and large projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with Deltek accounting software, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to manage complex financial transactions.
Oversee and manage the accrual accounting process, ensuring accurate revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure proper accounting for prepayments, accruals, and adjustments to accurately reflect financial performance.
Manage and track job costing for both small and large projects.
Work closely with project managers to monitor budgets, project expenses, and profit margins.
Ensure accurate allocation of costs to specific jobs and ensure job profitability is regularly analyzed and reported.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
Analyze financial performance for both small and large jobs to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding cost control, job profitability, and operational efficiency.
Utilize Deltek accounting software to maintain accurate and efficient financial records.
Ensure the system is fully utilized for reporting, job costing, and financial analysis purposes.
Manage integration between Deltek and other project management tools to maintain financial accuracy.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax laws and accounting standards.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and senior leadership, to provide financial insights and support.
Provide guidance and leadership to junior accounting staff, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting activities.
Controller Background Profile :
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accrual accounting and job costing.
Previous experience in construction, project-based accounting, or similar industries.
Strong proficiency in Deltek accounting software a plus
Experience in both small and large project accounting.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, job costing procedures, and financial reporting.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
Ability to lead and mentor a team, as well as work independently.
