Our client located in Dallas, TX is in need of a Financial Reporting Accountant. This is a direct hire opportunity. Looking for Accountants with strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and investment reporting from within the insurance industry to qualify. Annual Bonus!

Financial Reporting Accountant Role:
As the Financial Reporting Accountant, your focus will be on the company’s financial reporting, investment management, and regulatory compliance.
You will play a critical role in managing financial close processes, reconciling accounts, and preparing statutory filings.
Regularly collaborate with investment teams, regulatory bodies, and auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Leading monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries.
Performing or reviewing reconciliations for financial accounts, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Acting as a key point of contact for investment managers, custodians, and financial software providers.
Supporting trading operations by managing back-office functions and coordinating with brokers and financial institutions.
Preparing financial reports related to insurance and investment activities.
Assisting with the development of statutory filings, financial disclosures, and regulatory reports.
Responding to requests from auditors, rating agencies, and regulatory bodies.
Ensuring compliance with state-level financial reporting requirements.
Identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency in reporting and reconciliation processes.
Financial Reporting Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
2 years of financial reporting experience, within the insurance sector, corporate not agency.
Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and investment reporting.
Experience preparing financial reconciliations, journal entries, and statutory filings.
Familiarity with investment structures, such as bonds, equities, and derivatives, is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with investment reporting systems (FIS Investment Management or similar preferred).
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet multiple reporting deadlines.
Experience with regulatory filings, including risk-based capital and financial strength assessments, is a plus.
