Our innovative wildfire defense system allows homeowners to track wildfires, receive critical alerts, and actively safeguard their properties using a remotely operated fire protection system. With multiple layers of redundancy, our system hydrates homes and surrounding areas to prevent ignition from flying embers—the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfires.
We are a fast-growing team that has already achieved significant milestones in protecting homes across Northern and Southern California. Our team includes experienced engineers, product designers, and industry experts, and we are looking for a Software Engineer to help drive the development of our technology platform.
About This Opportunity
As a Software Engineer , you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing our real-time IoT and mobile application platform. This role is an exciting opportunity for a mid-to-senior level engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will work directly with the Head of Software and collaborate with a small, agile team to develop scalable and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & System Architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain core backend functionalities for our wildfire defense system.
- Build and optimize real-time data processing solutions to support IoT integrations.
- Utilize Elixir as the primary backend language, with potential future firmware development using the Nerves platform.
- Ensure best practices in software development, including automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
