We are looking for a Full-Time Rehab Transporter to come join our team in Yonkers, New York!
-The Transportation Aide is to provide safe transport of patients, requisitions, charts, and miscellaneous items and assist with patient transport activities as required.
Experience and Skills:
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Speaks, reads and writes English
o Prior experience in a health care setting is preferred.
o Ability to work in an organized and professional setting
o Must complete in-house orientation program.
o High school diploma and 30 college credits or associate degree
o Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport patients to and from rehabilitation appointments, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and rehabilitation staff to coordinate schedules and address any concerns.
Maintain a clean and organized transport vehicle, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and in good condition.
Monitor patients during transport, observing for any changes in condition and reporting concerns to medical staff.
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes at rehabilitation facilities.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
Provide support in other areas of the rehabilitation facility as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare or transportation is a plus.
Previous experience in patient transport, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to lift and assist patients as needed, adhering to safety guidelines.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
CPR and first aid certification preferred.
