Job Summary:
Frontwave Arena seeks a dedicated Repair and Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance and repair operations within our 7,000 capacity indoor venue. This role requires a strong commitment to ensuring the facility is safe, well-maintained, and prepared for a variety of events, including sports, concerts, and community activities. The Repair and Maintenance Manager will coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to maintain efficient operations and ensure readiness for events.

The Repair and Maintenance Manager will coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to maintain efficient operations and ensure readiness for events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Repair, rebuild, or replace items such as electric motors, combustion engines, compressors, and pumps.
- Operate auxiliary supply systems, including generators and battery backup systems.
- Follow energy management programs, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols for all machinery and equipment.
- Assist in the conversion of the arena for various events, including sports, concerts, and other configurations, ensuring all facilities are appropriately set up for each event.
- Record and log all work performed, complete work orders, and compile all required reports in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with outside contractors during events and conversions, coordinating the shutdowns and startups of utilities as necessary.
- Work with external vendors on maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NFPA, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Operate equipment such as industrial trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and scrubbing machines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or similar fields preferred.
- Five (5) years full-time experience in facility maintenance or a related capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understand the methods, principles, and practices required for the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Be familiar with operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, and technical requirements for events.
- Follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines while managing pressure and producing safe results.
- Possess any licenses, certificates, or training required by local, state, or national authorities for operating facility equipment.
- Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, schematics, and related materials.
- Communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, and patrons.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur; able to work independently and in a group setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Must perform strenuous physical duties, including moving and walking extensively around the facility.
- Stand for long hours during events, kneel, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb to high walkways.
- Lift and/or move 50-80 pounds as necessary.
- Work may require performing in environments with adverse conditions such as loud noises, varying weather, and exposure to fumes or chemicals.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at extreme heights with appropriate PPE.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Universal Refrigerant License, NFPA 70E Low/High Voltage, High-Rise Fire Safety Director certification, State Fire Pump Test certification, etc.
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge with the ability to operate Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard office equipment.
Hours of Work and Travel Requirements:
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to standard business hours.
