Who you are:
As an SBA Underwriter I, you will be responsible for preparation of closing documents and loan advances of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans up to $5 million. You will partner with customers and commercial relationship managers and ensure that SBA rules and guidelines are followed for all loan files. More than that, this role is about providing top-quality services and doing it with integrity, caring and excellence in mind.
What you’ll do:
Determine underwriting requirements needed for SBA submission
Analyze and assess the appropriateness and completeness of the borrowers’ project budgets
Interpret documents to ensure compliance with SBA requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, business appraisals and purchase agreements
Monitor the servicing of the SBA portfolio statewide, including exceptions, past dues, and modifications of SBA loan documents
Stay current on SBA regulations affecting eligibility, loan documentation and perfection of collateral
Always take action using Integrity, caring and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or 2 years commercial lending experience
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to execute in a fast paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft computer applications
Additional Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of government regulations surrounding SBA lending
Thorough understanding of commercial loan credit structures and loan documentation
Understanding of accounting principles
Experience with Laser Pro
