Frost Brown Todd LLP , a national law firm with 1000 legal and business professionals in eighteen offices, is hiring a full-time Communications Manager to join our Marketing Department. The ideal candidate should be a skilled communicator with a strong ability to translate complex legal and business concepts into clear, engaging narratives that tell a persuasive and compelling story. This role is key to preserving and elevating the firm's reputation by developing dynamic messaging, proactively identifying PR opportunities that align with our strategic plan, and assessing and navigating potential risks when needed. The Communications Manager will work closely with business development and marketing colleagues, as well as attorneys, to ensure clear and effective communication both within the firm and in promoting the firm's initiatives externally. This position has responsibility for multiple direct reports.
Key Responsibilities :
- Proactively guide firm communications, both internally and externally, to engage with our audience, ensure message consistency, enhance the firm's online presence, and support strategic priorities and growth objectives.
- Manage relationships and communicate with media outlets both within and outside the firm's footprint, pitching story ideas to drive firm awareness.
- Help lead response and communication related to various complex situations or crises as-needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments on submissions for key legal directories, publications, and other rankings and awards that support increased visibility and recognition for the firm and its lawyers.
- Ensure internal communications processes and resources are set-up to maximize efficiency and drive targeted messaging.
- Oversee marketing communications campaigns to optimize performance from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, execution, tracking, and reporting.
- Leverage existing content and work with other department team members to identify opportunities to further communicate our service offerings.
- Provide public relations services such as media talking points, press releases, press conference coordination, etc.
- Write, edit, and proofread firm announcements, alerts, articles, press releases, website content and other marketing-related communications.
- Manage the firm's Copywriter, ensuring high-quality writing, editing, and proofreading of marketing collateral and communications.
- Lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of writing style guides in collaboration with the Copywriter.
- Oversee the Internal Communications Specialist to ensure alignment between internal and external communications and leadership objectives.
- Manage outside PR vendor relationships and determine highest and best use of external resources.
- Understand future trends in digital technologies and act proactively to use those tools to continue advancing our communications efforts.
- Work closely with other departments to leverage the firm's intranet system and be a key participant in change management.
