Overview
Are you an energetic and engaging individual who loves interacting with people, enjoys the buzz of a farmers market, and has a knack for spreading the word about great products? Frothy Mug, a growing mobile cafe startup in the Northern VA and DMV area, is seeking a dynamic Farmer's Market Operator & Brand Ambassador. In this role, you will manage a local farmers market setup and perform light barista duties. Your success will be directly rewarded through a commission and bonus-based compensation structure with a focus on marketing and brand promotion to drive customer engagement and sales
Responsibilities
* Represent the Frothy Mug brand with enthusiasm and professionalism at assigned farmers market
* Manage tent, table, and product setup and breakdown at closing
* Take customer orders using Square and serve light food & beverages to customers
* Answer customer questions on menu items and ingredients
* Engage with potential customers to promote Frothy Mug’s services
* Engage marketing activities such as handing out flyers, providing free samples, and explaining our menu and ingredients to customers and prospects to drive interest
* Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors at the markets, fostering community connection
* Actively promote Frothy Mug’s social media channels and encourage customers to follow
* Gather customer feedback and insights that can inform marketing strategies and improve our offerings
* Coach intern / assistant market operators
* Lead and assist with cleanup and teardown of the market setup
* Maintain knowledge of our company, menu, and ingredients
* Adhere to food operations and health regulations
* Work towards achieving agreed-upon marketing and sales targets that will determine your commission and bonus earnings
Qualifications
* Have high integrity and a strong work ethic
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage with people
* A passion for the Frothy Mug brand and our values
* Ability to stand for multiple hours at a time and lift 25-30 lbs
* Ability to work flexible hours including mornings and weekends
* Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
* Be familiar with food operations, regulations, and basic math skills for orders
* Have strong attention to detail and organization skills
* Prior experience in food preparation, coffee, or food service industry is a plus
* Enthusiasm for marketing and brand promotion
* Experience with engaging customers and building relationships
* Familiarity with social media platforms is a plus
* An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in contributing to business growth
Compensation & Structure
This position will be structured as a 1099 independent contractor with a commission and bonus-based pay model:
* Your primary compensation will be based on a commission earned from sales generated at the farmers market. Specific commission rates will be discussed and agreed upon.
* Opportunities for performance-based bonuses will be available based on achieving or exceeding specific marketing goals, such as customer acquisition, lead generation, or overall sales targets at your market. (Further details regarding the commission structure and bonus metrics will be provided during the interview process)
