Position Summary
This position is a level 3 maintenance employee. Observes and examines complex, specializedequipment and parts to identify issues and determine appropriate repairs. Completes preventativemaintenance of facility equipment.
- Observe, dismantle and examine complex / specialized mechanical devicesand parts to identify and locate issues.
- Examine parts to detect imperfections. Inspect used parts to determinechanges in dimensional requirements. Requires the use of rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
- Repair and/or remove defective parts. May require the use hoists, ladders,hand tools, and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprint layouts, written instructions and repair manualsto complete assigned tasks.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. May require theuse of hand tools, levels, and straight edges.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworkingtools to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
- Perform welding tasks as necessary.
- Complete other tasks assigned by management.
Minimum Job Experience Required
- 1-2 years of maintenance related work experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in related field a plus.
- Possess current driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and use precision instruments. Basic knowledge of electronicequipment and testing devices.
- This position is expected to complete required Craft Training Modules according to policy.
- Ability to be on 24-hour call and provide own tools if required.
- Specialized training in various areas of repair and maintenance a plus.
