Liquor Clerk Job Description

As a Liquor Clerk you’ll be an essential part of our team. Your responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service, handling cash transactions, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws.

Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the store, assist customers in locating products and provide recommendations, Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns courteously.

· Cash Handling: Operate the cash register accurately, Process payments (cash, credit/debit cards, etc.) and issue receipts, Maintain a balanced cash drawer.

· Inventory Management: Receive and check incoming shipments of liquor products, Stock shelves and arrange displays, monitor inventory levels.

· Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the store clean, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting, empty trash, arrange products neatly on shelves, Ensure proper labeling and pricing.

· Compliance with Regulations: Verify customer age for alcohol and tobacco purchases, Understand and follow state and local liquor and tobacco laws, Handle alcohol and tobacco responsibly and prevent sales to underage or intoxicated individuals.

· Additional Duties: Assist with store opening and closing procedures, help with periodic inventory counts, collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive work environment.

Minimal Qualifications/ Physical Demands: Your qualifications. Physical demands will include but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

· Must be at least 21 years old (or the legal drinking age in your area) due to the nature of the products sold

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers effectively.

· Accuracy in handling cash transactions and inventory management.

· Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment.

· Ability and Will to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

· Familiarity with local and state regulations related to alcohol sales.

Physical Demands:

· Stand or Sit - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

· Walk - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

· Use hands/fingers to handle or feel - Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

· Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance - Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder

· Stool, kneel, crouch, or crawl - Constantly positions self to maintain files in file cabinets.

· Talk/hear - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

· See - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

· Carry weight, lift, push, pull - Frequently moves items weighing up to 50 pounds or more across office for various needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
