We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to work on the development of cutting edge power electronics applications across AI and Supercompute for one of our clients based in Texas.
Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer role overview:
You will develop and verify ideas to enhance next-generation power electronics for applications like data centers, AI, networking, and supercomputers. Collaborate with global teams and interact with customers and suppliers. Use your creativity and results-oriented attitude to provide innovative, clean, and energy-efficient solutions.
Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and develop modular DC/DC converters.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess design performance.
- Design, build, and verify hardware.
- Develop and optimize control algorithms.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
Skills and Experience needed for Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer:
- Knowledge of electronics circuit development, analog and digital electronics, power losses, and semiconductor basics.
- Understanding of electromagnetic theory, including magnetic circuits and Maxwell equations.
- Experience with PCB layout design, prototyping, and testing.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, Simplis, PLECS, LTSPICE).
- Excellent hands-on and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of power electronics concepts.
- Experience with magnetic components design.
- Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and material design considerations.
- Experience with power semiconductor devices (SiC MOSFETs, SiC diodes, Si IGBTs).
- Understanding of cost tradeoffs and manufacturability.
Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
- 8 years of experience in power electronics.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
