Warehouseman - Grandview

Job Summary

The warehouseman is responsible for operating a variety material handling equipment for moving, locating, relocating, stacking various items. The equipment utilized in these functions are forklifts, slip sheets, squeeze clamp, drum clamp, pallet jack, etc. The warehouseman is responsible for the safe and efficient use of this equipment. The warehouseman is also responsible for order picking, product receipt & storage & shipment. The warehouseman must be self-motivated and work with a minimal amount of supervision.

Primary Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

• Accurately receive all inbound loads and ensure counts/lot breakdowns match delivery documentation. Report shortages, damages & discrepancies to immediate supervisor
• Prepares incoming product/supplies for storage in designated areas including high stacking & multi-level storage racking
• Safely & efficiently operate forklift or pallet jack to load or unload trailers, railcars or containers
• Load, unload, move, stack and stage product using a forklift, pallet jack, clamp, slip-sheet or other equipment
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number of types of product is located and shipped free of damage
• Efficiently move product from staging or storage areas into railcars, containers & trailers
• Assist in customer physical inventories
• Provide general upkeep of work area(s) by performing master sanitation work orders in various areas of facility
• Ability to document clearly and legibly

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, use fingers
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequently required to sit and operate forklift
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to utilize scanners and tablets for daily warehouse functions

Work Environment

• Daily workflow is fast paced, dependent on daily and seasonal customer and company requirements
• The noise level in the work area is usually moderate
• Work in a cold storage warehouse where temperatures are (-5 to 45 degrees)
• Work in a dry storage warehouse where temperatures are dependent on outside weather

Work Experience Requirements

• 1 year in a warehouse environment

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent or higher.
