Overview:
The Powder Coat Prep Helper is responsible for assisting the Powder Coat Painter to prepare fabricated metal for the Powder Coat Paint Process and assist with other functions of the operation.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prep, sand, hang, and prepare fabricated metal for powder coat paint process
- Remove products after powder coat process is complete and cured
- Clean, load, and carry parts to and from the powder coat line
- Finishing parts as directed standards
- Completes job responsibilities in a safe manner
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to calculate basic math
- Ability to complete basic measurements
- Attention to detail — quality oriented
- Self-starter, ability to work with little supervision
- Good work ethics/attendance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Surface prep product to a cosmetic finish
Physical Requirements:
- Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels
- Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or finger
- Candidate is required to have close visual acuity
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs
- Ability to reach, squat, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, twists, and reach
- At times dusty due to the manufacturing aspect
