Pharmacy Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of medical supplies and personnel to various healthcare facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to navigate hospital environments effectively.

Duties

• Safely transport medical supplies, equipment, and personnel to designated locations within hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner while adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of items transported and any relevant patient service information.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand delivery needs and priorities, particularly in acute care and critical care settings.
• Utilize knowledge of aseptic technique when handling medical supplies to prevent contamination.
• Assist in the administration of medications as required, ensuring compliance with hospital policies regarding medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff regarding any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in medical terminology related to transportation logistics within healthcare.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is essential; experience in pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of IV infusion processes and critical care protocols is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with healthcare personnel and patients.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
