Duties
- Safely transport medical supplies, equipment, and personnel to designated locations within hospitals and healthcare facilities.
- Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner while adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of items transported and any relevant patient service information.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand delivery needs and priorities, particularly in acute care and critical care settings.
- Utilize knowledge of aseptic technique when handling medical supplies to prevent contamination.
- Assist in the administration of medications as required, ensuring compliance with hospital policies regarding medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff regarding any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in medical terminology related to transportation logistics within healthcare.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential; experience in pharmacy or hospital settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of IV infusion processes and critical care protocols is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with healthcare personnel and patients.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
