Job Summary
Prepping and scanning all medical records in a timely and accurate manner.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers..
Essential Functions
- Sort, file, scan and collate a variety of medical records and information such as admission slips, laboratory and pathology reports, operative notes, clinic notes, discharge summaries into patient medical records, prepare death certificates, complete disability, FMLA requests in accordance with established procedures.
- Pull records for insurance chart audits, as needed.
- File and retrieve medical records by patient in accordance with and predetermined priorities; research lost or missing records in accordance with established procedures.
- Examine patient medical records for completeness ensuring all required information is included; note any deficiencies and refer to appropriate area for follow-up.
- Daily abstraction of patient records for all locations.
- Pick up and deliver patient medical records from various service areas.
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming faxes.
- Import faxes from fax server.
- Download and print hospital reports as necessary from various hospitals.
- Review patient records by removing unnecessary or duplicate information.
- Answering phone as needed.
