What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at FS Investments?
FS Investments is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in designing, managing, and optimizing both local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our network infrastructure and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The Engineer will work closely with all members of Technology and the Business to achieve these goals.
The successful candidate is expected to:
- Become an internal subject matter expert for the engineering team on various areas of the business and the data necessary to improve that area’s ability to make business critical decisions.
- Develop high quality solutions to enhance extensibility, scalability and efficiency within configuration driven data platform.
- Update stakeholders on project progress and project risks.
- Dig into system events to track, investigate, and resolve defects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in network engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking devices and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Deep understanding of dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP). Familiarity with network security principles, including VPNs and firewall configurations.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and network troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with network monitoring tools. Certifications: CCNA, PCNSA
