Key responsibilities of a crushing plant groundman may include: * Loading and unloading materials:Operating front-end loaders or other equipment to feed material into the crusher, as well as removing crushed aggregate from the stockpile area. * General cleanup:Sweeping up spills, removing debris from around the plant, and maintaining a clean work area. * Basic maintenance:Performing minor repairs on equipment like replacing worn-out belts, lubricating moving parts, and checking for potential issues. * Safety checks:Inspecting equipment for damage before operation, ensuring safety guards are in place, and reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor. * Material quality control:Visually inspecting crushed material to ensure it meets quality standards. * Assisting with repairs:Helping the maintenance crew with more complex repairs when needed. * Operating small equipment:May operate small machinery like wheelbarrows, shovels, or skid steers depending on the site. * Following safety guidelines:Adhering to all safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper procedures for working around heavy machinery.
