What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist 2nd shift position at FSC Cutting Tools?
The machinist / operator is responsible for performing various tasks to operate, monitor, and perform limited preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
The machinist / operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications, making adjustments, and changing tools as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
The machinist / operator operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The Machine Operator will adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and supervisor guidance and in a timely fashion.
2nd Shift
Specific Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position and operate machinery
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance and clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Perform quality control, follow reporting and record keeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
