What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Survey Technician position at FSC, Inc.?
High School diploma; 1 years’ surveying experience preferred
Job Summary
The Survey Field Technician will be responsible for assisting the Party Chief collect data for boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking.
Responsibilities:
- Load truck with necessary equipment and supplies needed for job
- Transport and set up the instruments and prepare the job site
- Assist in setting control points, benchmarks, and reference points to establish accurate survey reference systems
- Perform field measurements and data collection including notes, sketches, and photographs
- Utilize GPS survey equipment and levels to measure and record precise data
- Follow safety rules and adhere to all safety requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Familiarity with surveying equipment like Trimble GPS and Total Stations
- Pre-Employment drug test and random DOT drug testing is required
Work Conditions:
- Works in a field environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds
Work Schedule: Nominal 8-10 hours per day; Monday through Friday with weekend work required when necessary; Overtime may be required on short notice to attempt to meet project deadlines. Travel is required.
