Job Description
The Party Chief is responsible for overseeing survey projects, ensuring accuracy in data collection and analysis. This position works under the direction of the Project Manager, serves as client liaison, and is responsible for the safety of the crew and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Overall management of survey crew
- Consult with Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator to discuss project requirements
- Assure compliance with crew safety policy and procedures
- Perform various surveys as per request of Project Manager
- Maintain accurate and detailed survey data and records
- Maintain inventory of all survey equipment and supplies
- Responsible for safe operation of all company equipment and vehicles
- Consult with clients, inspectors, contractors, and property owners as needed
- Inform crew of job requirements and necessary equipment
- * Prepare field notes and complete daily paperwork
- Train Field Survey Technicians
Experience Needed:
- Have working knowledge of the operation of all surveying equipment
- Have working knowledge of survey calculations
- Have experience in plant and topo surveys, construction staking and conventional leveling
- Capable of reading and interpreting surveying plans including construction/civil
- Proficient with the operation and maintenance of Robotic total stations and GPS equipment, electronic levels, and other measuring instruments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Party Chief
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Pre-Employment drug test and random DOT drug testing is required
Work Conditions:
- Work in a field environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather condition
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds
Work Schedule:
Nominal 8-10 hours per day; Monday through Friday with weekend work required when necessary; Overtime may be required on short notice to attempt to meet project deadlines. Travel is required.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
