Function: Operations
Position Summary:
Ensures material inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules. Material Coordinator collects and analyzes data on current orders, production levels, and sales forecasts to estimate future demand for materials
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Review production schedule and confers with the lead coordinator regarding the assigned module(s) / engine to determine material requirements and to track material / sub-assemblies. Is responsible for ensuring all parts are available to enable scheduled engine build dates.
- Own and drive (coordinates and expedites) flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between Support Shops and/ or the warehouse stock rooms, according to production priority.
- Compiles and maintains computerized records (PO Report) of productions priorities (engine), updates material inventory status by Module(s), location of materials / sub-assemblies, and status of materials for in-process components.
- Collaborates with Front End Inspectors to identify and formulate a list of consumables required for assigned engine or Module(s).
- Collaborate with leads and techs throughout the day to verify all issues have been addressed.
- Computes qty of material required based on the available stock to complete work orders, applying knowledge of engine/module (s), stock status, and manufacturing processes.
- Review the Quantum for support shops input, to identify, capture/ note all fallout (scrap / repairable parts), visually confirm and verify if we have in stock, and if not generate PRs.
- Generate requisitions and order consumables and materials for assembly and support shops.
- Update PO Report daily before the end of shift (this gives access to other departments to add feedback) ***All reports should be identical in format and coloring!
- Review associated Engines PDS and WS released by Engineering to replace LLP / modules and Check OSD for shortage.
- Collaborate with CSM along with the supply chain regarding all customer parts requiring replacement and approval in a timely manner.
- Ensure all outbound modules from the Blue Tag stock room are kitted before being released to the mechanics.
- Ensure all modules transferring from Blue Tag WH to the production work shops have been properly transacted in Quantum, which is by scanning out of stock and into the part's final location once delivered.
- Examines material that will be delivered to mechanics for conformance to specifications. Confirm that all parts supplied for assembly have the proper documentation (verifying that the Blue Tags and the parts do match).
- Responsible for issuing all materials being given to technicians once they are installed at a sub assy/ final assy to the engine.
- Monitor all outgoing parts racks for control movement (materials are removed and transfer to their next destination frequently or Parts Movers expedites and move parts between support shops promptly).
- Reviews Quantum to verify the stock status and to identify overdue materials.
- Coordinate with SC/ Logistics all modules shipments that must be repaired by external shops to meet production schedules. Be sure to track module/shipment status (ETA).
- Ensure consumables are pre-kitted and pre-drawn before delivering to mechanics.
- Return all unused consumables, hardware, parts back to the stock room for restocking as soon as they are returned from technicians.
- Coordinate and return all scrap materials to the stockroom for proper disposition.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of general work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Comfortable leading others
- General knowledge of the typical business practice
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Forklift operator certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and cultural awareness.
- A good level of computer literacy
Job Demands:
Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
