POSITION TITLE: Communications & Marketing Intern for Summer 2025 Semester
Hours: 15-25 hours per week, schedule is flexible and open for possible continuation during Fall semester. Internship opportunity can be extended beyond the current semester. This is a paid internship based at our headquarters (704 Rolling Hills Drive) in Johnson City. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Position Overview:
First Tennessee Human Resource Agency (FTHRA) is seeking a motivated Communications & Marketing Intern for Summer 2025. This intern will play a hands-on role in supporting agency-wide outreach efforts, with a primary focus on developing a recruitment, marketing, and training video for NET Trans. The intern will also assist with day-to-day communications, content creation, and marketing tasks that promote FTHRA’s many programs and community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with project – video planning, filming, and editing for NET Trans Van Driver recruitment
- Help draft and schedule social media posts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Help write and design internal and external newsletters and flyers
- Support event promotion, including volunteer appreciation and hiring fairs
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for campaign concepts, taglines, and visual strategies.
- Organize digital content and maintain asset libraries (photos, videos, testimonials)
- Take photographs and video footage at agency events, program sites, and community functions for future marketing use.
- Contribute to website content updates and analytics tracking
- Monitor trends in nonprofit marketing, social media best practices, and storytelling, and suggest improvements.
- Assist with the design of flyers, social media graphics, and internal communication pieces.
- Contribute to website updates, such as refreshing photos, adding new content, or ensuring links and pages stay current.
- Provide general support for other communications-related initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Production, or related field
- Experience with Canva, video editing tools (iMovie, Premiere Pro, etc.), and social media platforms
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
- Reliable, organized, creative, and self-motivated
- Comfortable interacting with diverse staff and community members
