AP Specialist

Accounting Associate Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in supporting the AP Supervisor with various accounts payable responsibilities. This position also involves performing general and entry-level accounting tasks that require analysis and independent judgment to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for reviewing financial documents and prepared work to ensure accuracy, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and adherence to internal accounting procedures outlined in the organization's manual.

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the AP Supervisor to manage accounts payable tasks, including:

Processing monthly credit card statements.

Reviewing and processing invoices on a daily/weekly basis.

Handling purchase order (PO) requests through the electronic PO system.

Assist in the monthly accounts payable closing process.

Support the year-end process, including preparation of vendor 1099 forms.

Prepare and record journal entries for expenses as necessary.

Generate and provide reports as required.

Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while contributing to daily operations.

Foster positive working relationships with colleagues to maintain a professional and efficient workplace environment.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, special projects, and professional development opportunities as needed.

Adapt to emergency situations requiring schedule flexibility or reassignment of duties.

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
