What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineering Technician II position at FTS, Inc.?
Scope of Position:
- Focused on capacity additions and the associated line installations & debug from a mechanical perspective.
- Lead and/or participate in manufacturing engineering projects to support capacity installations, equipment debugging, and preparing lines for operations.
- Provide mechanical expertise to proactively identify technical issues through root cause analysis and implement industrialized solutions for line debugging and installations.
- Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering, machining, and design processes to enhance equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support or lead new equipment and process introductions, as well as opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and execute project plans to provide timely, error-free mechanical support for multi-line equipment installations.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues while maintaining scope, timing, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with various functional teams daily to achieve project goals.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe work practices and identify potential hazards in the work environment.
- Design and implement mechanical solutions and process improvements to enhance manufacturing equipment capability.
- Manage activities to meet milestone and timeline objectives for successful capacity expansions.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and process issues using data analysis, experience, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Identify and manage spare parts inventory as recommended by suppliers and engineers.
- Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
- Support training initiatives for the operations workforce regarding equipment or process changes.
Travel Requirements:
- Project locations primarily in Newton, NC, and Hickory, NC.
Work Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, with expected overtime. Periodic off-hours coverage may be necessary based on project requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.33 - $23.33 per hour
