About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Mortgage Loan Officer with underwriting responsibilities to join our team in Fort Worth. This role is uniquely focused on underwriting, particularly for bank statement lending, and does not require business development or networking with realtors or buyers. The ideal candidate will have strong underwriting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while serving our community’s lending needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting Focus: Primary responsibility for underwriting, with a special emphasis on analyzing bank statements and financials to assess borrower qualifications.
- Loan Processing: Assist in the loan process by ensuring loan documents are signed, interacting with third-party lenders, and helping to guide the loan process from start to finish.
- Loan Document Management: Work with borrowers and lenders to finalize loan agreements and ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed and submitted.
- Lender Relationships: Collaborate with a mix of internal and third-party lenders (50/50 split) to secure financing for borrowers. Occasionally, negotiate between lenders to broker the best deals for clients.
- No Business Development: This role does not involve finding new clients or networking. The focus is entirely on evaluating and processing loans for borrowers within a specific community.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in reviewing loan applications, financial documentation, and Excel reports.
Key Requirements:
- Bilingual: Must be fluent in Spanish to effectively communicate with borrowers in the community.
- Experience in Underwriting: Strong underwriting experience, particularly with bank statement lending, and the ability to independently analyze and assess borrower financials.
- Mortgage License: Must hold a valid mortgage license.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using mortgage software and Excel to track loans and manage a loan pipeline.
- Attention to Detail: Must be thorough in reviewing financials, loan applications, and documentation to avoid errors and ensure compliance with lending standards.
- Location: Must be based in the Fort Worth area and able to work in-office.
