Role Overview:
We are seeking a Grants and Payroll Specialist to manage a dual-function role that combines grant writing and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in both fields, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. This position plays a vital role in securing funding for the organization’s initiatives while ensuring that payroll is processed efficiently and accurately. The role requires excellent communication, analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Writing & Management:
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
- Write detailed, compelling grant proposals and applications that align with the organization's mission.
- Prepare budgets, project plans, and other necessary documents for grant submissions.
- Track and manage grant applications, deadlines, and reporting obligations.
- Ensure full compliance with grant guidelines and regulations throughout the application and reporting process.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant data and produce reports on grant progress and outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with funding organizations and respond to inquiries as needed.
Payroll Administration:
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
- Verify and calculate deductions, benefits, overtime, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, including time-off balances, pay rates, and other payroll data.
- Address any payroll discrepancies and respond to employee questions regarding pay.
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as labor regulations.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and ensure timely payment.
- Generate and distribute pay stubs and other necessary payroll documents.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, such as issuing tax forms (e.g., W-2s).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Two to three years of experience in grant writing and/or grant management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, payroll software, and applicable tax regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Versatile, flexible, and eager to work within changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common productivity tools.
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a diverse range of tasks and projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
