What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Purchasing/Procurement Specialist position at FTS Inc?
One of our great partners in Orlando, FL is looking for a contract Purchasing/Procurement Specialist!
The ideal start date is Monday, April 21. This assignment is covering a permanent employee's leave of absence that will span between 3-4 months. This position is fully onsite, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely procurement of required items.
- Monitor inventory levels proactively and initiate purchase orders to avoid shortages and support uninterrupted production.
- Utilize ERP software to manage purchasing transactions, update material requirements, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments; ensure accurate logging of materials and resolution of any variances or damaged goods.
- Communicate regularly with vendors to confirm order status, clarify lead times, and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support consistent pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
- Follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely fulfillment and escalate delays that could impact production schedules.
- Analyze usage patterns and production schedules to identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, cost savings, or alternative sourcing.
- Coordinate with internal departments to provide real-time updates on material availability and expected delivery dates.
- Ensure accurate documentation and filing of purchasing records, including invoices, packing slips, and delivery confirmations.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory and receiving area; oversee proper storage and labeling of incoming materials.
- Support the continuous improvement of procurement and inventory management processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Exhibit reliability, a team-oriented mindset, and exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, supply-driven environment.
What You Bring
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with purchasing/procurement.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- ERP experience and familiarity with inventory control systems.
- Vendor relations experience.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members effectively.
