The successful candidate will work closely with our design and construction teams to ensure the integrity, safety, and durability of residential structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural design calculations and analysis for residential building projects, focusing primarily on light-wood frame construction.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure the proper implementation of structural designs.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Conduct site visits to assess and ensure the proper execution of structural work.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement solutions to overcome design or construction challenges.
- Provide input during the planning and permitting stages of residential projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the engineering team.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience with light-wood frame construction is highly preferred.
- Experience in residential construction preferred.
- Previous experience in civil or commercial engineering is considered, but candidates must demonstrate a strong desire and clear reasons for transitioning into residential construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction processes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, etc.) and AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
