What are the responsibilities and job description for the Air Compressor Technician position at FTS?
Polk City, FL: FTS is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Air Compressor Technicians to perform MRO services primarily on diesel and electrician air compressors, as well as other equipment such as generators, light towers, forklifts and various other diesel and electrically powered equipment used in the abrasive blasting and painting industry. Technicians will start in the shop with an opportunity to grow into a field service role.
What You Will Do:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel and electric air compressors and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working conditions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in compressor technology.
What We Need You to Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel or electrical technology preferred.
- Proven experience as a compressor technician or in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of diesel and electric systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
