Job Description
This challenging role offers the opportunity to shape FUCHS's EHSS (Environmental Health and Safety) culture and systems as part of our North America EHSS Team.
- IDentify Emerging Regulations: Stay up-to-date on health, safety, and environmental regulations, communicating key information to the team.
- Data Management: Extract, analyze, and present data for internal reports, external audits, and government agency submissions.
- Environmental Permitting and Auditing: Leverage expertise to ensure regulatory compliance and improve processes.
- Regulatory Inspections and Communications: Collaborate with agencies and stakeholders to maintain open lines of communication and resolve any issues.
- EHS Policy Development: Assist in designing and implementing policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
- Training and Education: Deliver comprehensive training sessions on EHS topics to promote awareness and compliance.
- Risk Assessments and Event Analyses: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents or near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Cross-Facility Audits: Participate in site-wide assessments to ensure consistency in EHS standards and practices.
- Software Application Management: Manage access and usage of assigned EHS software applications.
- Project Representation: Provide expert input on EHSS aspects during project kick-off meetings and improvement initiatives.
Travel Requirements
This position involves occasional travel, approximately 10% of the time, to support various activities and projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental, health, and safety roles, focusing on ISO Systems like 14001 and 45001.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing EHS programs, policies, and reporting frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with SAP experience preferred.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
