Position Overview

The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for our organization, providing essential administrative support and ensuring a welcoming environment for clients, students, visitors, and staff. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth within the organization, including pay increases at six months and one year of employment. The role is key in facilitating communication and coordination between our Foster Care and Middle / High School Programs .

Key Responsibilities

  • Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with adjusted hours of 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM during school breaks and summer months.
  • Greet and assist visitors, clients, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, taking messages as necessary.
  • Maintain a well-organized and welcoming reception area.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings for program staff.
  • Assist with the intake process for new clients in both the Foster Care and  Middle / High School Programs .
  • Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information in line with organizational policies.
  • Support program staff with additional tasks as needed, contributing to the organization’s success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in office administration is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in a non-profit or social services setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with standard office equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
