JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title : Shift Manager Department : Fuego-Laguna Burger
Employment Classification : Non-exempt Employment Status : Full-time
Reports to (Supervisor Title) : Site Manager
Position Summary / General Description : Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum guest service satisfaction, by orchestrating, through the team, production of quality food and high standards of service. The Shift Manager fosters a fun and inviting atmosphere while ensuring quality control, safety and health standards are adhered to.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Enthusiastically interact with the potential and existing customers.Perform, train, evaluate and appraise crew member duties including, but not limited to : Complete money transactions using a point of sale system / cash register without variance; take customer orders, make orders (prepare food (cook and make ice cream shakes), and drink items); bring orders to customers, clean dining room and building exterior, etc.Ensure product is stocked and rotated to ensure proper expiration dates, and ensure product is displayed in an organized manner.Maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with Food Systems Food Safety & Sanitation guidelines and the HACCP System.Create a fun environment for all crew members while ensuring performance standards, franchise standards and Fuego’s policies and procedures are adhered to.Ensure product quality standards are met through proper food preparation and prepare food products to proper specifications.Ensure venue operations are run in a smooth and efficient manner to ensure guests satisfaction.Listen to and address guest grievances.Exercise sound personnel management practices. Ensure applicable federal, state, and local laws / regulations are adhered to by following guidance of Human Resources relative to employment practices and labor relations. Confer with Principal Manager and Human Resources to review associate concerns, and conduct alcohol / drug testing.Communicate operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention to Site Manager.Establish priorities for all crew members and provides assistance as needed.Participate in the execution of new menu implementations, daily specials and promotions.Ensure all kitchen equipment and the appearance of the venue is in accordance to franchise and Fuego’s standards.Maintain open communication throughout the venue, thru daily pre-shift meetings.Provide fast, friendly and courteous customer service to customers and coworkers.Enthusiastically interact with the potential and existing customers.Education & Experience :
Education- High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience required in the hospitality industry.Qualifications :
Minimum age of 21.Demonstrated leadership ability.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.Licensing & Certification :
Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Manager Certification within 30 days of employment.Must possess and maintain New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit upon hire.Must pass background and credit check.Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery :
Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Proficient with basic office equipment (e.g., computer, photocopying and faxing).Kronos (Timekeeper Software) and Compeat (Inventory Software)Point of sale system / cash register.Grill, fryer and range stove.Chemical dispensing stations.Essential Physical Requirements :
Requires employee to hear, see, sit, stand, talk, walk, and repetitive use hands the majority of the time.Balancing / climbing, bending over, crawling, crouching / stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead, turning twisting, pushing / pulling, lifting, and carrying the majority of the time.Essential Mental Demands :
The job requires problem solving, organizing, planning, decision making, interpreting data, reading and writing the majority of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
The job requires making hiring recommendations, training, disciplining, scheduling, apportioning work among employees, directing and appraising productivity. The job does not require making decisions on termination.
Work Environment (inside / outside) : The duties are performed primarily in an indoor / outdoor restaurant and kitchen environment.
