Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing and coordinating the shipment of products, ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of goods to customers. This role involves preparing packages for shipment, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment based on customer orders or company requirements.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials (boxes, tapes, labels, etc.) and arrange items to be reordered as necessary.
- Verify product quality and quantity before shipping to prevent shipping errors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant shipping regulations and documentation requirements (e.g., customs forms for international shipments).
- Prepare necessary shipping documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations is required.
- Ability to operate shipping software and basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to lift and move packages
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures, especially for international shipments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
