IT Asset Specialist
We are looking for an IT Asset Specialist to manage the IT Asset Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and support efficient asset lifecycle administration for a large-scale financial organization. This position involves asset monitoring, generating reports, planning for End of Life (EOL) transitions, developing hardware strategies, conducting evaluations, and overseeing inventory.
The individual in this role will also supervise a team member responsible for logistics, request processing, and inventory reviews to guarantee prompt asset distribution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish and refine asset oversight policies and procedures.
- Maintain CMDB accuracy and track IT equipment from acquisition to retirement.
- Spearhead EOL assessments and retire outdated assets.
- Uphold compliance with inventory standards and conduct regular audits.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding hardware planning and issue resolution.
- Manage shipping, receiving, and request processing activities.
- Update reporting systems and dashboards to enhance asset tracking.
- Perform inventory reviews and address any inconsistencies.
- Educate employees on best practices in asset oversight.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- ITIL certification or a comparable asset management credential is a plus.
- Extensive experience in IT asset tracking, EOL planning, and inventory administration.
- Familiarity with asset management platforms (FreshService, Atlassian preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
