Summary:
Assist in the management of maintenance department and of maintenance team members to ensure proper coverage on the plant floor for all shifts working to fill customer orders by ensuring equipment uptime.
Essential Job Functions:
· Supervise and direct daily activity of team and assist in machine and facility maintenance tasks including:
o Monthly, quarterly, and annual PM actions
o Installation and testing of new equipment
o Perform root-cause analysis and trouble shoot chronic/re-occurring equipment issues
o Remove barriers to task completion for maintenance team members
· Ensure that Maintenance work order system is maintained on all shifts
· Oversee parts/ spare parts inventory for accuracy and review availability to maximize equipment uptime
· Participate in Kaizen events and cost reduction implementation
· Support the insurance that processes (equipment and people) are capable to achieve daily QCD expectations
· Take an active leading role in keeping a safe work environment to prevent accidents/injuries - respond urgently to resolve and report safety incidents that may happen
· Support the management of monthly employee on-going skill development (post schedule and training matrix)
· Promote a positive work environment/good team member morale through proper 5C, training and development, etc.
· Complete required reports timely (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
· Ensure compliance to applicable laws and regulations
· Support ISO activities as required
· Perform other related duties as required
· Maintain 5S daily activity on all maintenance shifts
· All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge / Education:
· Associates degree in engineering or equivalent training plus experience
· Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmental, 2 years in supervisory role required.
· Proficient working knowledge of PLC, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electronics, basic Fabrication including machining and welding
· Knowledge of Maintaining a safe workplace and ISO 14001 a plus
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Skills:
· Lead team of Maintenance technicians in a lean manufacturing automotive environment
· Trouble shoot and repair complex equipment and processes – includes PLC, Robotics, Plastic extrusion process, and assembly lines
· Coordinate, schedule and prioritize projects and monitor to deadlines
· Communicate effectively verbally and written
· Consult, Coach and train maintenance technicians
· Effectively utilize MS products to plan, analyze and report / communicate to team and staff level managers
· Effectively use shop tools and equipment to support equipment uptime
· Implement modifications and new equipment
Abilities:
· Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
· Capable of multitasking and adjusting to changing priorities
· Keeps others informed on requests in a timely fashion
· Uses sound business judgement in making recommendations and decisions
· Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
· Ability to travel as necessary to obtain job proficiency and new equipment training
· Flexible and can adjust to multiple requests with changing assignments in a fast pace environment
· Ability to work all shifts including weekends.
Work Conditions:
Climbing, Sitting, Standing, carrying loads up to 50 lbs,, work in heights, works partially in an office environment, Work in a fast pace environment with changing priorities. May be called in to work on all hours.
