We are a premier Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Construction company specializing in Firm Fixed Price Bidding within the MARITIME and offshore construction industries. We are actively seeking a Project-Oriented Estimator with strong management skills to support MARITIME pipe and structural fabrication/installation projects.
Position Summary – MARITIME Estimator
This is a MARITIME-SPECIFIC estimating role focused on shipbuilding, ship repair, and offshore construction. The Estimator will develop detailed cost estimates for MARITIME pipe and structural projects. The ideal candidate must have direct experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or offshore fabrication projects and understand the complexities of maritime construction methods.
Key Responsibilities – MARITIME Focus
- Analyze MARITIME project specifications, drawings, and contracts to develop precise cost estimates.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and subcontractors in shipbuilding and offshore construction.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates for MARITIME fabrication and installation.
- Identify and mitigate MARITIME-specific project risks and cost overruns.
- Develop MARITIME project schedules and budgets to support bidding strategies.
- Maintain an up-to-date cost database for MARITIME labor rates, materials, and historical project costs.
- Ensure compliance with MARITIME industry standards (ABS, USCG, NAVSEA preferred).
- Assist in contract negotiations and bid proposals for MARITIME projects.
Qualifications – MARITIME Experience Required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in MARITIME pipe and structural construction estimating (shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, ShipConstructor, or similar software is strongly preferred.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple MARITIME estimates and deadlines.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with MARITIME regulations (ABS, USCG, NAVSEA) is a major plus.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills tailored to MARITIME projects.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with MARITIME clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent MARITIME experience will be considered.
This role is for experienced MARITIME estimators ONLY. If you do not have shipbuilding, ship repair, or offshore fabrication experience, this may not be the right fit.
