Electrical & Instrumentation Systems Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
As an Electrical & Instrumentation Systems Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining and optimizing our facility’s automation and control systems. Your key duties will include:
- PLC Programming & Control Strategy Development: Lead the design and programming of control systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs (with knowledge of Mitsubishi and Yokogawa PLCs as a plus).
- System Implementation & Start-Up: Oversee the start-up and commissioning of new systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Process Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and HMI issues, providing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborative Work: Partner with the engineering and maintenance teams to improve systems and ensure operational success.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, as well as reports for ongoing system improvements.
- Training & Leadership: Mentor and guide the maintenance team on best practices for electrical instrumentation and controls systems.
- Project Management: Organize and lead projects related to system upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting. Ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting industrial equipment, and HMI programming. Prior supervisory experience is essential.
- Technical Skills: Expertise with PLC processors, AC/DC power systems, VFD drives, process instrumentation, and more.
- Education: Degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and diagrams.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage workflow effectively.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, occasional standing, and walking.
- Occasional climbing or balancing on top of tanks or equipment (up to 60 feet).
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds as needed.
- Close vision for reading and using technical equipment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to chemicals, varying temperatures, and loud machinery.
- Regular troubleshooting both on-site and remotely.
