As the Senior Desktop Engineer in our Global IT department, you will be in a pivotal role in maintaining the organization's desktop systems, cultivating a well-trained technical team, and ensuring a high quality user experience on a global scale.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Project Execution and Quality Assurance: They are responsible for participating in technical projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and meet the organization's quality standards (30%)
- Technical Guidance and Issue Resolution: As the ultimate point of escalation within the business, the Senior Global Desktop Engineer is accountable for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across a variety of technologies (20%)
- Training and Mentoring: This role is responsible for training and mentoring other Global Desktop Engineers. This involves imparting critical technical knowledge and skills, enabling them to effectively address and resolve technical issues independently (20%)
- Client build, Software deployment and patch management Ensure, software deployment, patch management. Ensure asset management of client hardware (20%)
- Knowledge Base Management: The SR Global Desktop Engineer is accountable for leading the creation and upkeep of the organization's knowledge base. This involves documenting solutions to common issues, establishing best practices, and developing end-user support and training materials (10%)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or other related discipline
- 5 years of work experience in SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and MS365 Administration
- Proven experience in scripting in powershell
- Proven experience with various operating systems, specifically Microsoft Windows 10, with ability to handle intricate OS issues
- Proven experience with GPO, Active Directory
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining training and development material for IT teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Administrative knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016-2019, Office 365, Teams, and Cloud-based phone systems.
- ITSM Knowledge: A solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and principles, which facilitate effective IT service delivery.
- Hardware Expertise: Excellent knowledge of computer hardware, including PCs, network printers, and more, enabling swift hardware-related problem
- resolution.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a service-minded approach. Must be a team player and a good communicator
- in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to perform an analytical and methodical approach to IT incidents and requests, with proven problem-
- solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- User Interaction: Demonstrated experience working closely with end users to manage issues and requests as they arise, with a strong emphasis on
- customer service and satisfaction.

As the Senior Desktop Engineer, you will also train and mentor other Global Desktop Engineers, sharing knowledge, and enhancing their skills to ensure they can effectively resolve technical issues. This includes leading the development and maintenance of the organization's knowledge base as well as creating end-user support and training documentation.
You will also engage in project execution and quality assurance, administering support processes and procedures, and overseeing client builds, software deployment, and patch management. You will also ensure the effective asset management of client hardware and document all relevant processes and procedures.
FDBU works with technical data, technology and materials that are subject to U.S. export laws and regulations.
