The Technician 1, Maintenance is responsible for assisting installation, maintenance, and repair of process related systems/equipment. Ensure these systems meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing. We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.
The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on process equipment, such as bioreactors, centrifuges, ultrafiltration skids, parts washers, autoclaves, isolators, and fillers
- Assists senior technicians in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions
- Maintains accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) quality standards
- Adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practices
- Notifies management or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
- Attends all required safety and health training
- Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed
- Assists with spare parts assessments, as required
- Other duties, as assigned
- Knowledge of mechanical systems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication, both written and oral
- Knowledge of GMP requirements and programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other process control systems
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes
- Detail-oriented
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing setting
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment
