What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Fujirebio Diagnostics Inc?
Position Summary: The Production Planner is responsible for creating and publishing production plans that satisfy all demand, enter Sales Orders into business systems, and at times, communicate with end customers. This includes OEM, TPM, internal customers, and any new business demand. The Production Planner will work hand in hand with the Group Leader, Production Planning.
Essential Job Functions:
· Works with Material Planner(s) to ensure raw materials are available to meet Manufacturing’s needs and customer orders.
· Responsible for overall business production planning, scheduling, prioritization, and tracking/monitoring of production activities.
· Provides (internal/external) customers with proactive information about any changes in supply and/or shipment changes.
· Supports the entering of Sales Orders from internal and external customers into business systems.
· Meets with Operations to confirm the production plan is feasible and achievable.
· Assists in preparing various reports such as recovery plans, filling/packaging schedules and labeling conversions.
· Generates manufacturing forecasts on a monthly basis.
· Creates, maintains, and reports metrics related to on-time delivery.
· Collaborates with Purchasing to ensure commodity quantities/dates are achieved and to resolve any problems related to delivery, quality, quantity, and supply.
· Develops/maintains forecast and reports, as needed.
· Escalates issues as necessary to ensure that forecasted sales, production plans and master schedules are properly integrated.
· Communicates changes to production plan and master production schedule to affected departments.
· Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):
· Must be a self-starter able to work without close supervision, understanding what needs to be done, and taking the required actions
· Possesses a level of product/commodity knowledge to attain a level of awareness of operations as they pertain to the Company
· CPIM certification preferred
· Excellent computer skills required including proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
· Knowledge of MRP/MRP II or Automated Planning Systems; e.g., Oracle, SAP, Ariba, etc.
· High level of understanding of manufacturing systems and its functionality
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
· Ability to interface with multiple departments and individuals both internally and externally
· Ability to work in a high pressured, deadline-oriented environment
· Excellent attendance and the ability to work overtime required
Education and Work Experience Required:
· Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience in the production/sourced products planning areas)
· Minimum of three years of planning and scheduling experience in a warehouse/shipping and manufacturing environment
· Technical knowledge of overall supply chain management: MRP, inventory management, planning, forecasting and production scheduling
· Prior experience in a GMP medical products manufacturing environment
