Responsibilities:
As part of the Fukuji & Lum ohana, the Pelvic PT Level 2 Function reports to the Pelvic Director. As part of the Fukuji & Lum ohana, Pelvic PT 2s have 4 or more years of experience in the Outpatient Orthopedic setting and are working towards Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC). This mid-level position emphasizes professional growth, collaboration, and mentorship while maintaining high standards of patient care and contributing to the clinic’s success.

Maintain Open and Honest Communication with the Pelvic Director
- Provide transparent feedback to the Pelvic Director about clinic operations, patient care, workflow improvements, and your needs as an employee.
- Participate in daily huddles to discuss obstacles, review clinic workflows, and resolve open issues.
- Communicate any issues or concerns promptly for discussion and resolution.
- Be open to quick bursts and other management tools implemented by the Director.
Deliver Patient Care Within Scope of Practice Act & PPM
- Four years of experience in the Outpatient Orthopedic setting recommended
- Working towards Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) which specifically identifies the bearer as a specialist in the pelvic health field, and it covers both women’s and men’s pelvic health throughout the life cycle. PRPC focuses on pelvic care (and issues affecting the pelvis and pelvic structures) of any gender and age.
- Demonstrate proficiency in treating interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS), pelvic neuralgias, vulvar pain, and dyspareunia.
- Hold a PF2 certification: Treat common functional gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunctions including irritable bowel syndrome, fecal incontinence, and constipation. Participants will understand how diagnoses such as hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures, and anorectal pain including pudendal neuralgia and coccygodynia may be improved with pelvic rehabilitation. Introduction to nutrition for bowel health, other colorectal conditions, and oncology will be provided.
- Create appropriate Plans of Care for pelvic conditions within the PF2 certification level.
- Create a Home Exercise Program on the first visit and update in subsequent visits
- Assess RTM eligibility
- Instruct primary caregivers on necessary medical information to allow optimal patient outcomes.
Perform Documentation to F&L Standards
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation per F&L standards.
- Complete all documentation for IE, DN, PN, and DC within 48 hours.
- Co-sign appropriate documentation for PTs and PTAs to meet the 48-hour documentation standard.
- Respond to Prompt task requests and interoffice communications daily.
- Review Prediction Health Audit Score monthly to improve documentation efficiency and compliance.
- Submit insurance authorizations as determined by F&L procedures.
- Update Case Overview per F&L procedures on the Dashboard weekly.
Enhance Professional Growth & Development
- Participate in continuing education related to desired specialty as the state board of Physical Therapy requires and in collaboration with mentor’s recommendations for growth in Pelvic Health.
- Create and lead one in-service per year to build new skills in desired areas of focus/expertise.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and activities to enhance interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration with peers.
- Actively participate in LCWs (in-clinic training) for professional growth and development.
- Actively participate in the company’s public relations/marketing efforts as needed.
Support the Company’s Professional Practice Model
- Apply a whole-person approach to care by addressing physical, emotional, and social aspects of patient treatment.
- Perform consultations/screens for patients when appropriate.
- Contribute and collaborate in clinical meetings to facilitate optimal care.
- Serve as Clinical Instructor for at least one PPT student internship yearly.
- Mentor a PPT 1 to promote internal professional development and growth.
- Meet regularly with a Clinical Mentor and Pelvic Director to progress professional development and growth path.
- Uphold the values and goals of the organization through quality care and teamwork.
The Kaneohe Clinic is open Monday through Friday and your hours would be 7:15am to 6:30pm.
