Job Summary:
Charleston area company seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper & HR Specialist to manage key financial and human resources functions within our organization. This role will be responsible for accounts payable, daily cash management, payroll-related tasks, employee benefits administration, and project-oriented work as needed. The ideal candidate has a strong background in bookkeeping and HR, with the ability to handle various administrative duties efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping:
• Process accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Perform daily cash management, reconciling transactions and ensuring proper allocation using bank interfaces.
• Maintain financial records and assist in reporting as required.
• Handle other accounting duties as needed based on skills and experience.
Payroll & HR Administration:
• Payroll processing support (minimal duties on actual payroll day) for a small team, including hourly employees.
• Manage paid time off (PTO), bonuses, and other compensation adjustments.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, providing assistance with benefits, policies, and other HR-related matters.
• Administer and update employee benefits as changes occur.
General & Project-Based Responsibilities:
• Assist with project-oriented tasks based on business needs.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned, depending on skillset.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and HR administration.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, payroll processing, and financial reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of HR policies and benefits administration.
• Proficiency in accounting software and banking interfaces.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong communication skills to interact with employees and management effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
