Growing Mount Pleasant company seeking qualified AP & Bookkeeping Specialist to join their team!
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable Management
o Process and reconcile incoming invoices, matching them with purchase orders and receipts.
o Schedule and prepare payment runs (checks, electronic payments) accurately and on time.
o Review vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or payment issues.
2. Bookkeeping Tasks
o Record daily financial transactions in the general ledger.
o Assist with bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented.
o Maintain accurate records of financial data.
3. Financial Reporting & Recordkeeping
o Generate periodic accounts payable and expense reports.
o Ensure proper documentation and organization of financial records for audits or internal reviews.
o Collaborate with external finance team to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Relations
o Communicate with vendors to address payment inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies.
o Coordinate with internal departments to obtain approvals and clarification on invoices or expenses.
5. Process Improvement
o Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the efficiency of payment and bookkeeping processes.
o Stay updated on best practices in accounts payable and basic bookkeeping.
Qualifications
• Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
o Previous experience in accounts payable or basic bookkeeping is highly desirable.
o Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is an advantage.
• Skills & Attributes:
o Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
o Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
