This role will ensure seamless technology operations, alignment with business objectives, and compliance with industry regulations. The IT Director will lead teams across IT infrastructure, desktop support, cybersecurity, and technical services, driving efficiency, security, and strategic IT transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across network and telecom, computing services, client support, vessel support, and cybersecurity.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud environments, enterprise systems, and endpoint management.
- Direct the IT security strategy, including infrastructure protection, incident response, and regulatory compliance, particularly in regulated industries such as marine transportation and energy.
- Manage IT operational performance, service levels, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee infrastructure assessments, system evaluations, security audits, and policy implementation.
- Drive technology transformation initiatives while ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver value-added technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships to optimize IT services.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, IT procurement, and resource allocation.
- Lead incident response and disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime and risks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- 15 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 8 years in leadership roles.
- Strong background in IT operations, infrastructure management, desktop support, and cybersecurity.
- Experience implementing IT security frameworks and managing compliance programs.
- Proven track record of building collaborative, high-performing IT teams.
- Experience supporting complex business operations, preferably in marine transportation, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of networking, server infrastructure, telecom systems, and IT support services.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with IT budget preparation, vendor management, and strategic IT planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or relevant technical certifications (CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or equivalent).
- Experience with vessel technology, marine communication systems, and industrial control systems security.
- IT leadership experience in regulated industries with compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a managed services or consulting environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Completion of executive leadership or CIO development programs.
